The Adoration of the Magi, Peter Paul Rubens

Rubens was a Flemish Baroque artist, skilled in painting religious events, mythologies, portraits and landscapes. He was highly regarded for his Catholic Counter-Reformation art and depicted The Adoration of the Magi more times than any other event in the life of Christ

In Christian tradition, the Magi (commonly known as the three Wise Men) were members of the ancient high priesthood of Medes who came to worship the birth of Christ.

Wishing you all a happy Christmas and New Year. See you in 2014!
