It’s been a while since I’ve uploaded a new post and in that time, a lot has happened! This time, I hope to be back for good!
Having recently returned from a trip to Croatia, I thought I’d share the work of the Croatian artist, Ivan Rabuzin, with you.
Ivan Rabuzin (1921 – 2008) initially trained as a carpenter but in 1956, he exhibited his artwork in his home village of Kjuc. Thus began the start of a successful art career, leading Rabuzin to become a full-time painter in 1963.
His style is referred to as naive art, due to its childlike simplicity, innocent subject matter and idiosyncratic scale.
