Tara Donovan (b. 1969) is an an American artist who creates sculptures, drawings, prints and large-scale installations that transform everyday objects into unusual, naturalistic works.
To avoid forcing a message onto the viewer, Donovan does not title her work. Instead, magnificent sculptural forms are left free to interpretation, enabling the viewer to have their own, very personal experience of her work.
For Untitled (2014), Donovan explores the constant variation and interaction of acrylic rods to create bursts of cloud-like forms. The resulting effect is a sculpture that has a deceptively soft, tactile and organic nature to it.
